Traveling to a new destination is certainly exciting, but the planning aspect of traveling is enough to put anyone off. If you’re not in the mood to plan an entire vacation but feel like you need a break from your daily life, take some time off and plan a staycation instead. It’s a much less expensive alternative to traveling and will certainly cause you fewer grey hairs to plan.

  1. You’ll Be Able to Save Money

When you boil it all down, traveling is expensive. Between plane tickets, luggage fees, and car rides to the airport, you’ve already spent yourself a pretty penny before the vacation has even begun. When you take a staycation, however, you won’t have to worry about any of that. Instead, take all the money you would’ve used to pay for plane tickets and luggage fees and use it on splurging on one of the nicer rooms at your local hotel.

  1. You Can Pamper Yourself, Locally

When you’re on a staycation, you can still do all of the things you would when traveling somewhere else. For example, you can sleep in late and have brunch with friends at your favorite café or restaurant, order room service and stay in bed all day, or even treat yourself to a spa day.

If you’re feeling even more adventurous, consider looking up museums and galleries nearby that you may not have had time to visit in the past.

  1. You Won’t Have to Pack

One of the best things about taking a staycation is the fact that you won’t have to pack any luggage! If anything, an overnight bag with your essentials is the most you’d need to bring for a stay in a hotel. No packing means less stress and more time to plan your staycation.

  1. Leave the Stress Behind

Traveling can bring out a lot of stress and anxiety in people who already suffer from it on a regular basis. Packing, trying to get to the airport on time, and booking the right hotel rooms are all things that can trigger an anxiety attack. With a staycation, you won’t have to deal with any of that.
