Spring break is known to be a time full of nightmarish crowds, drunk party-goers and rowdy young adults. If this is not your scene and you are looking for a different spring break experience, you have come to the correct place. Take a look below at some unique spring break trips you don’t even have to leave the United States for.

Park City, Utah

While large crowds will be swarming to the south this spring, you might want to turn your attention up north, specifically to the adorable town of Park City, Utah. If you are an adrenaline junkie, you will love the adventuresome vibes of this destination. Participate in some end-of-season snowboarding, go hiking on one of many public trails, eat and shop along Main Street and indulge in some warm hot chocolate each evening, perhaps in a hot tub overlooking the snowy mountains. There is no shortage of things to do here, so make sure you take advantage of the many activities the area has to offer.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

While technically a U.S. territory, Puerto Rico is a great spring break alternative to the continental United States’ overcrowded beaches. If you are craving tropical vibes but want a more relaxing spring break experience, you should highly consider traveling to San Juan. This eclectic city has beautiful beaches, an incredible history, the tastiest food and even a tropical rainforest you can spend hours in. Even if you do not make it here for spring break, this destination should be on your bucket list.

Phoenix, Arizona

If you’re instead more drawn to the desert, Phoenix, Arizona is a great place to visit over your break. This characteristic city in the middle of the desert has a variety of restaurants for foodies, a plethora of hikes in the surrounding area for fitness enthusiasts and even adrenaline-rushing activities such as taking a hot air balloon ride thousands of feet into the air to admire the vast desert. Additionally, there are picturesque places to visit nearby, such as Sedona, Scottsdale and even the Grand Canyon.

New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans is a soulful, southern city with comfort food, jazz music and nearby bayous. Spring breakers can easily soak up a whole week here by spending their days exploring the city and their nights hopping from one jazz club to another. While Bourbon Street prides itself on being the party scene of the city, there are plenty of other activities to do if you want to avoid rowdy crowds.

The United States offers so many destinations suitable for a fun and crowd-free spring break. Wherever you decide to go, make sure you stay safe and enjoy this time of youth with your friends.
