Space Needle
This 605-foot-tall Space Needle is an iconic part of the city. Having been built for the 1962 World’s Fair, this tower is known far and wide for its iconic look. A 43-second elevator ride can reach the top observation level. During the ride, you can see the doodle that inspired the design of the Space Needle itself– it’s on a napkin! You can see Elliot Bay, the Cascade Mountains, and even Mount Rainier from the top of the Needle.
Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP)
If you’re interested in a fascinating learning experience, why not try out the Museum of Pop Culture? This Frank Gehry-designed building includes music, science, and all sorts of pop culture. The building itself looks like a broken guitar. However, the inside features many colorful exhibits that teach you about the history of indie video games and horror films to Nirvana, the Seahawks, and everything in between.
Chihuly Garden and Glass
This museum is one of the most beautiful sights in Seattle. This museum is dedicated to the life’s work of a locally born, world-renowned glassblower Dale Chihuly. He was introduced to the art of glassblowing while attending the University of Washington. This museum holds an incredible collection of pieces of his art to date, even including an impressive collection containing a variety of his glass-blown work. The best part about this museum is definitely in the glasshouse, where there’s a 100-foot-long glass sculpture suspended from the ceiling in gorgeous hues of red, orange, and yellow.
Seattle Aquarium
Everyone loves a good aquarium! On Seattle’s Pier 59, be sure to check out the aquarium to learn about the different types of fish, meet the cutest sea otters, and take a glance at every sea creature this aquarium has to offer. You can see everything from puffers, to sharks, to giant clams! You can even touch a sea anemone and watch sharks swim above you in the underwater dome. This is definitely an attraction that you don’t want to miss
