Those looking for a party may want to consider visiting during Carnival, a colorful five-day festival that takes place every year.

  1. Machu Picchu

Indiana Jones fans will jump at the chance to visit Machu Picchu, otherwise known as The Lost City of the Incas. The history behind this destination is incredibly fascinating and can be heard during a daytime visit. If you’re looking for an extra challenge, be sure to check out Wayna Picchu, the mountain that sits more than 1,000 feet above Machu Picchu. It’s certainly a trek to get to, but worth every painstaking step once you see the view from up there.

  1. Serengeti National Park 

If wildlife is what you’re looking to experience, the Serengeti National Park is the perfect place to visit. Here, you’ll find thousands of zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, lions, and other types of incredible wildlife. If you do plan on visiting, be sure to plan your trip with the help of a safari outfitter who will make sure you get a glimpse of all the wildlife you wish to see. 

  1. Taj Mahal

Romantics will be thrilled to hear the story behind the stunning Taj Mahal. Built in the 1600s, the mausoleum, made entirely out of white marble, was dedicated to the Persian princess Mumtaz, by her husband the emperor Shah Jahan. The inside is just as stunning as the outside, so be prepared to be in constant awe.
